A NOTE FROM AIMIEE!
***********

Hi! My name is Aimee Ramirez and I have been the Missouri chapter part-time social worker for HDSA since July 2018. Prior to working for HDSA, I was a school social worker. In this role, I gained a wide variety of experience supporting children and their families. I have also worked in foster care and human resources. My bachelor’s degree in social work was earned at Arizona State University and my master’s degree in social work is from University of Kansas. Although I live in the Kansas City metro area, I am here to assist individuals and families affected by Huntington's Disease and health care professionals throughout the state of Missouri. The two best ways to reach me are via the helpline at (816) 399-9094 or email: aramirez@hdsa.org. I do work part time and it may take up to 24 hours for me to return your phone call or email.

In addition to answering the helpline and email inquiries, I also help plan HDSA education events, provide in-service education to long-term care facilities, home health care agencies, and law enforcement and first responder agencies; and develop and maintain a list of community resources for HD families. If you would like to call, introduce yourself and chat, please do so any time. I welcome the opportunity to get to know you, even if you do not currently have a need for my services. That way, we will already be acquainted if you ever do!

If you are a Facebook user, I would encourage you to like and follow the Missouri chapter page at https://www.facebook.com/HDSAMissouri/  It is kept updated with current events from around the state as well as helpful tips, research updates, etc. that you and your family may find helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, etc. I look forward to hearing from you!
